Jayli turns 1!!

It's so incredibly cliche but.... I can't believe my baby is one! Jayli is such a doll. We had so much fun planning her first birthday and getting ready for it. Jayli had a fabulous birthday...week. We had a big birthday bash on labor day the 3rd with all of our closest family and friends. A relaxed traditional birthday on the 6th. And a super exciting weekend in salt lake and the zoo with just mommy and daddy.

This was Jayli's invite to her party.

I let J help make some of the treats for her party.

Special thanks to my little sis Tegan for coming to help me do all the baking the day before!

Girl of the Hour!

"Hey everybody, watch me pound this cake!"

All the kids had her surrounded! It was so fun to watch her with the cake. Thanks for coming everyone!

After treats we walked down the street for some crazy slip n slidding! We have a huge grassy hill on an empty lot in our subdivision. We bought 100 ft of visqueen at Lowes and Jake staked it into the ground. We turned on some sprinklers... added a lot of soap and we really made some smiles!

The next morning Jayli was so excited to see all of her new toys she forgot about. We saved some gifts for her to open on her actual bday. And yes... her jammies match the party theme! :) Couldn't help myself!

Winner Winner!

Most of you probably know that I've been.... "thriving" this summer. I decided to become a consultant for Shelf Reliance in March, and have been loving it. Since I have only been working one day a week at the hospital, I found I had lots of free time at home with Jayli. We love the food and use it in our own home and food storage. About the time I signed up, the company started a contest. Guess what the winner got? ALL INCLUSIVE TO COSTA RICA!!! Oh yeah! I tried my hardest all summer and we made the top 5!!!! This is the 5 star Hilton Papagayo Costa Rica Resort & Spa. On October 23rd Jake and I will be here for 5 days of luxury! The best part, we don't pay a dime. Free flight, free ocean view bungalow, free food, free excursion..... ahhhhhh. We are stoked! I think this counts as a second honey moon, 5 year anniversary gift, sweetest vacation ever!

Utah State AGGIES!

We love our Aggies. Football, basketball, Hockey, we're there! We love to go and cheer and sing along, "Who doesn't love the spot, where the sage.... Brush... GROWS!!!!

Jayli loves her Aunties!
Mindy, Jentry and Tiff were all there with us.

We even got to see our sweet friends Gary and Jess before they left the country again. They bought Jayli and their little boy Jordan little aggie shirts! We had a hard time keeping them still for a picture though.

Temple Open House

We visited the Brigham City Temple Open House. Jake's parents and Tiff and Jentry came too. We were able to walk through this beautiful building before the dedication. Everything about the temple is elegant and peaceful. The large gold doors and grand, sparkling chandeliers are all "magnificent!" Each room and corridor is of finest craftsmanship. Jake's dad pointed out to us that the hand carved, dot dot dash, in the finish work was morse code for VICTORY! What a fun fact. We enjoyed walking around the outside temple grounds afterwords and taking pictures. Jake and I are anxious to complete a session after the temple has been dedicated. For more information about our church and this beautiful temple visit LDS.org

I snapped this shot of our group as we were leaving. I just had this happy feeling inside to be with everyone there. Jake and I both have great families. We love that we get to see them so often.

Top of Utah Half Marathon

I completed my first half marathon! I trained 10 weeks this summer for it. I have to admit, I didn't think anything past 5 miles was even a possibility for me. But once I started running 8,9,10 miles I was blow away! It's amazing what our bodies are capable of. I couldn't have accomplished anything without Jake's encouragement and help with Jayli so I could get out and run 4 days a week. And I wouldn't have even signed up if it wasn't for my neighbors that pressured me into it. I guess this was good peer pressure. :) We had so much fun looking forward to race day. We trained together and talked about it constantly. The night before the race, we picked up our race packets and had a big carb loading dinner at firehouse. These girls are so amazing. I'm so glad we all stuck with it and hit our goals! Great job ladies!

Here's me just about to cross the finish line! 1 hour 58 min and 48 seconds

Jake turns 30

30 seems pretty old, but I'll be there in 5 years so it can't be that old. Jake turned the big three oh this year. He works so hard and gives so much. I don't know how he keeps going. Jayli and I can't get enough of him. We wanted this birthday to be special so we had lots of fun things planned to celebrate.

Birthday lunch at Jake's work

ps Jayli is wearing Jake's boots from when he was little!! :)

The next night we had a big neighborhood party.

It was a end of summer/ Jake's birthday party

We got rained out after dinner so we all came in our garage for ice cream cake and a movie!!!

most of the neighborhood all squished in our garage. Karrens, Waites, Kesslers, Lowes, Griffins, Tempests, Simpers and Jentry brought the projector all the way from Highland. Thanks Jen!!
