5 Months

I feel like I just did Jayli's 4 month post. The time just flies now! I wish I could slow it down. I want her to stay this age forever. Sweet little baby. But at the same time it's fun to see how much she learns everyday. Example: two days after I did her 4 month post she started rolling over to her tummy. I have a hard time keeping up with her. She outgrows and masters clothes and toys faster than I can tear the tags off. :) Good thing she has such awesome grandparents.

She has so many new tricks. She just started sitting up for a few minutes all by her little self! She will most always smile when you look at her. Loves to jump! I can't believe she already has the coordination to jump. The other day she jumped so high her butt would come up out of the seat. And later I noticed a little purple spot on the end of her tounge. I think she bit her tounge from jumping so crazy! She can roll onto tummy. Loves her feet and piggies! Loves rice cereal, hates carrots. Sleeps about 9 hours average at night, three 1 1/2- 2 hour naps during day. Loves tub time still. Has graduated to size 2 diapers. Plays with her hair while she's eating. Tries to hold the bottle. Not so slobbery anymore. Strange, but she gets really calm when I'm clipping her nails. Likes to fall asleep with me kissing her hand. Still hates getting dresses (too bad cause she has SO many clothes!)

Lots of pictures... I know. But when I average like 20 a day for a month, this is pretty good.

Ha she's like, "stop mom you're killin' me!"

LOVES to jump. So fun to watch!

I thought getting choked up and spontaneous tears were just a post partum thing. But I have noticed them more now. I can't hold them back in silly little moments. Like when she wakes up from a nap and just smiles at me. Or when I look at her jumping in her jumper across the room, she stops to look at me too and just bursts into the biggest, sweetest smile you've ever seen! I can't believe she's mine. She humbles me daily. I am so not worthy of such a blessing to be her mother. I am so grateful she loves me too.

Cort's Baptism

Our nephew Cort was baptised this last Saturday. He is such a stud. I can't believe he's already eight. We are so proud of him. We had a great time with him and the rest of the family.
Jayli was so excited to show off her new Valentine dress.... or I was. Jayli also loved all the colorful balloons. She would giggle when Jake flew her through a big bunch of them like a plane. We have so much fun with her. I think of this Celestial phrase all the time.... "..Joy in your posterity" It is so true!

My Favorite Time of the Day

Jayli's first nap comes pretty early each day. By 8:30 or 9 she is exhausted. I wrap her up in my arms and we stand in front of my bedroom window in the sun shine. It feels warm and peaceful. She starts to doze off so I lay her down on a soft blanky on my bed and I snuggle under a warm blanket next to her. The sun fills the room with warm light and Jayli and I snooze away for 2 hours. I don't know how long this bliss will last but I sure love it for now. I love you Jayli.

Here are some other sweet pictures of her sleepy slumber lately.

Every time I look at her sleeping. I think of the lyrics in Silent Night. "Sleep in Heavenly Peace"
She is so worthy of those words. Sweet little angle.

Utah State hey Aggies all the Way

We sure love the Aggies at our house. Jake and I have gone to a couple games since Jayli was born, but after we found some baby earplugs, we decided she could experience the excitement too. She actually slept the first half. But she was wide-eyed before the end. She already wants to become a true Aggie too. :) We told her she has to wait till she's 20.

My 4 month baby girl

Jayli is 4 months old! Oh I love this age. I said that 3 months was my favorite but I think I love her more every day. She is so fun. I love that I get to stay home and play with her all day. Jake is so great to work so hard for us. I love seeing every new thing she does and how she changes. She smiles almost every time we smile at her. It's like she knows what a smile means.... Happiness! Right when she wakes up she is all smiles. Ear to ear grins. It is so funny. We love running in to say hello after a nap because she just smiles and smiles. She still practices on rolling over from her belly to her back. She can roll up on her side from her back, but I don't think she wants to lay on her tummy. :) She is getting better with the 45 minute nap thing. She will either put herself back to sleep or I'll give her a binky and she'll fall back to sleep. She is still so slobbery. She jabbers a lot. She started doing this yelling thing. She will take in a big breath and exhale with a loud aaaahhhhhh. She's usually smiling while she's doing it. We make that noise back and forth to each other. It's like we're having a conversation. She sits up in her bumbo seat pretty good. She would much rather stand and hold onto your fingers than lay down. She laughs more often now. Her little giggle melts your heart.
At her 4 month checkup. She weighed 13 lb 8 oz (42%) and she was inches 24 long (34%).
She drinks 5 to 6 1/2 ounces 5 times a day.
We love that she sleeps 8 to 10 hours in her own bed still.
We had a fun little photo shoot on her 4 month birthday.
