Utah showers and nursery

I've had two baby showers so far. Jake's mom and sister's threw a shower for me last Saturday. Tiffany was sweet enough to host it at her place in town. I got to see most of his family there. Even Grandma Rowe made it from Brigham with Corene.

Becky made this amazing quilt! She did all of it. The stitching had all sorts of fancy shapes. Here are the brave boys. Jake took them all fishing during the shower.

Diedra Lunt threw a double shower for me and a friend from work. Lacey is due just 1 month before me. We invited all our work buddies.

And finally here are some nursery pictures. Jake made this little room so beautiful! Nothing on the walls yet, but we're still getting some things set up. Her bassinet will go in our room and we'll put a rocker there. Jake added some rods in her closet to accomadate all her clothes. We still have two showers to go.

July 4th and Baby

I love July. It's hot yes, but it's the best part of the summer. BBQs, long sunny days, fireworks all through the month, grass, lots of visiting with friends and neighbors, and I love that it stays light till 9. We had a great holiday weekend. And the best part was no work for 4 whole days! We really enjoyed the time together.
Friday night we had a BBQ with a bunch of friends across from the stadium and watched the Logan fireworks that night. Quite a fabulous night and we don't have to spend a dime. We went to the cruise in on Saturday with Tiff, Jaren and the Karens. Then got some ice cream with shaved ice after. We had a family lunch and the Toolsons on the 4th. Later Jake enjoyed some slip and slide at the Karens. Then we had a big neighborhood firework party that night.

Over the weekend Jake also found a little time to whip this together. I love him! Here's and old dresser he used growing up. Too tall to use as a changing table in the nursery. But with a little work...

And here are some belly shots. This was the night we painted the nursery.

It sure feels like I'm running out of room in there. My doctor said she's measuring a week early. So maybe we'll see her in August! That's next month! I'm starting to panic lately. The reality of it is that she's coming.. soon and we're gonna be parents. I love laying in bed at night laughing with Jake cause she's moving around so much. I love that he can feel her too. She sure puts on a show for him. His face is so funny. He swears he can tell when it's her foot or her bum. We already get to experience the "joy in our posterity." :) He's gonna be such a wonderful father. I'm such a lucky girl.

Lake Powell

We enjoyed our annual trip to Lake Powell with Jake's family this last week. Lots of sunshine and cool water to play in. I didn't do any of the regular boating activities but I took pictures of everyone else. Swimming was very refreshing though. It felt awesome to float on my belly. :)

Happy Anniversary

We celebrated our 4 year anniversary onThursday. We have been looking for the perfect family car ever since we found out we were expecting. Well Jake took me to Salt Lake and we left with this...

Later that night I made a special dinner. I set up a table in the back yard in front of our bench and peach trees. Jake's such a wonderful husband. I'm so lucky to have such a sweet and talented companion. He's like no other man I've ever known. I can't wait to watch him become a father and care for our little girl.

BTW Jake has done some wonderful things in the nursery. I think he's really looking forward to having a sweet little one in our home. The basement is also almost finished. I'll share pictures when were done.

We got the bedding delivered today for her crib! I love it so much. We're using these colors to design the nursery. Yellow, white and gray.

Dusty

Don't mind our dust! Lots of sheet rock dust. The basement is coming right along. We got our sheet rock in and walls textured. Jake is ready to start the rock around the fireplace. He even made us a beautiful mantel from some old cedar all the way from the family farm in Loa! Can't wait to see it all put together!

Easter Suprise!

We made Easter a little different this year. I met my mom, grandma and aunts on Friday to do a little spring/baby shopping! But they didn't know what the baby was yet, so we made a little treat with a specific color inside! Jake did a great job with the letters.

Then Jake and I met up in Highland at his parents' on Saturday. We decided to share the big news that afternoon. So the kids got to do a pink/blue egg hunt. At the end of the hunt a clue in one of the eggs led them into the garage to find a batch of cupcakes! Calvin did the honor of breaking the suspense!

Yes it's a GIRL!!!!!! The majority of both our families were sure it was a boy! But we're gonna have a little girl! Jake will most definately be surrounded by women his whole life. But he's so good at it. We can't wait to fix up her room, Jake's got some awesome ideas.
Here's a good picture of her little face from the 20 week ultrasound. She was so funny. She kept yawning. So weird to see her in 4D! The sonographer said she is actually measuring a couple days early. So maybe we'll see her on Labor Day..... no pun intended! :) Here's proof of the damage the girls did last weekend shopping! Needless to say it's not hard to shop for a girl!
