Jayli did so great at her first visit to the dentist. She got to watch a cartoon on the ceiling while they cleaned and checked her teeth. No cavities! Although, the dentist did notice the alignment of her front teeth was off. He knew she was still using a pacifier. Even though it's only while she falls asleep, it needed to go. She's almost 3 and that's long enough! So a week later, we took her to the store, and let her choose any toy she wanted. She choice a Mellisa and Doug food chopping set. In exchange for the toy she gave the cashier her pacifiers. We explained to her that she get's a toy but the paci stays at the store. No more paci. She agreed and gave them up willingly! I was really dreading the next several nights. BUT..... she did so awesome! She did ask for her paci a few times the first night, but went to sleep with no trouble! I was so relieved. She only mentioned it a few other times over the next two weeks but was such a big girl about it. She loves her new toy and we love her!
