2 months

Kynli Shae is 2 months! She has already started to smile and talk to us. She "coo"s and "ahhh"s. She likes the carrier. And will usually fall asleep if we've been walking around. She smiles so big she can hardly see through her squinty eyes. Oh I love this chubby little kiwi. She also started drooling like crazy. Jayli always wants to hold her. One time after about 3 seconds she looks back up at me and said, "here this is yours." They are the sweetest sisters.

 I've started supplementing her with a little formula. I figure she eats about 2-3 oz every 3 hours. She goes to bed about 8:30 and wakes up around 3 and 6 in the night. She has started waking after about 30 minutes in most naps. Sometimes I can get her to go back to sleep. She does fall asleep on her own with a paci and swaddled. She weighed 11.8 (69%) was 22.75 inches long (66%) and her head was 15.25 (49%) at her 2 month check up.

Happy 4th

The 4th of July is definitely my favorite holiday! There is just so much to do. This year we didn't get to it all but we still had a "blast!" Fireworks at spectrum with friends, my mom and Kam. Franklin parade. Fireworks again. Swimming, and the cruise in. I love summer.

 

 

 

 

Kynli's hospital stay

I've been putting off documenting this event but I know I'll look back and be grateful it's over one day. Kynli got sick. And it was one of the worse experiences of my life. The worst possible feelings and anxiety just hit me. It started when Jayli brought home another illness. It's just impossible to keep everyone well with a 2 year old. We tried to keep everything clean but Kynli caught J's bug. At first it was just a little runny nose and a little bit of coughing. But then she started spitting up or throwing up after she ate. It always looked like a couple oz, so basically her whole meal. She did it more and more often until it was every meal. At 2am we heard her wake up and puke again. She was gasping for air and it really scared us. We took her into the ER and started doing tests. Chest and abdomen xrays, revealed nothing but a bunch of air in her intestines. RSV and flu panels were negative. The doc gave her the smallest dose of zophran to stop the puking, which thankfully it did. But my heart felt like it was ripped out of my chest when he looked and us and said he wanted to admit her. That's when you know it's time to be nervous. He admitted her on observation because she was a little dehydrated but mostly because for some reason her oxygen kept dropping. She would rebound right away but he didn't like it since she was so tiny. So at 6 weeks old we watched our sweet baby get oxygen taped to her face, leads stuck to her chest and a monitor strapped to her foot. She was so wiped out! For the day and a half we were in the hospital she basically slept the entire time. I tried to nurse her every chance I could. Luckily they never needed to start an IV, and they even turned off the oxygen after only the first day. We waited and waited for a wet diaper and finally got one the day we left. They ran a panel to see exactly which virus she had. It came back with para-influenza. Dr. Rogers (not our regular pediatrician) said she would have a sore throat and cough for awhile but since the puking stopped she would get better fast. They sent us home with an antibiotic because he also found she had an ear infection. Thankfully she recovered quickly! She seemed like herself after only a couple of days. She didn't puke again and her cough was very mild. Jayli went to highland again for a few days while we got Kynli feeling better. I'm so glad this is over. That my baby is healthy and that we don't have any lasting side effects. This experience definitely made me realize I should be grateful for the simple day to day stuff. It can always get worse and taking our health for granted is a mistake.

 

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to this amazing guy! He's so sweet to all his girls. Love and appreciate him so much.

 

Kynli is 1 month

 One month old! Kynli is such a mellow little sweetheart. She can already hold her head up pretty good. She's learning to take a paci and fall asleep on her own. She is the hiccup queen along with a list of several other nick names, sister Shae, baby cakes, and the popular "kiwi" because when Jayli says Kynli is sounds just like, Kiwi. She only nurses for about 10 min on one side, but when we went to see a lactation consultant, we found that she ate 4+ oz in that 10 minutes! The nurse was speechless. She kept saying, "I don't believe it, that is just crazy!" Kynli is in the 74% for her weight at 9.14. Getting better at the eat, wake, sleep schedule. If it isn't obvious from the pictures, Jayli is absolutely in love with her little sister.. and so are we.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

7 Years

 

We got to spend a whole hour alone for our anniversary. We got a root beer float and laid under the stars. I'm in love with him even more now than 7 years ago. Once young and crazy, no kids, no worries. I wouldn't choose anyone else I'd rather raise a family with. He's honestly the best friend I've ever had.
