Carribean Cruise 2014

Friday we left Logan @ 11 and took Jayli to Simpers. We set up her bed and unpack her bag. Picked up the Armstrong kids from school and played. We left J at Armstrongs' and left for the airport. We flew to Houston and stayed the night with Mindy.
Saturday Mindy and Craig made us breakfast. We left for Pasadena and got lunch with Osbornes'. Got on ship around 3. Toured ship and had dinner. Watched a dance show in the theater.
Sunday after breakfast we explored more of the ship. Then layed out by the pool and watched the super bowl playoffs on the big screen. Super hot that day. We had a formal dinner with duck, lamb and shrimp. Watched a comedy show in the theater.
Monday we took our first excursion in Cozumel @ 8. A catamaran took us out to snorkel then to an aqua park to relax and play. Jake bought Jayli and I bracelets with our names. When we got back we rented a scooter for $30 and rode around the island. We found a fancy pool and we snuck in and swam. We ate at Senior Frogs... yikes! Before we got back on the ship we bought Jayli a Cinderella puzzle.
We watched another dance show in the theater and went to dinner. (oxtail and veil)
Then watched the "marriage game" in the lounge.
Tuesday we ported in Roatan (island off Honduras). We paid a man $60 to take us around the island and snorkel in his boat. We shared with Josiah, Shanna and 2 little girls from Provo. Rode tiny boat out to Spooky channel and West End to snorkel. Jake found conch shells. We walked along West Bay beach and bough bracelets and lunch at Fosters. The man drove us back to the port through scary part of town. We had dinner with Provo family (salmon, eggplant, and port loin). We joined the dance party by the pool with streamers.
Wednesday we tendered into Belize City at 10 with Hubert and his wife from Germany. We walked around the shops and city. We bought Jayli an Ariel shirt and passed out cereal to little kids. We took a catamaran back to the ship at 1 and had lunch in our room. We napped by the pool on the back of the ship and called Tiff to talk to Jayli. Dinner, comedy show and country dance night.
Thursday we slept in and had a late breakfast. We joined a zumba class by the pool. We played Bingo for $20. Napped by the pool and sat in the "hot" tub. Formal dinner was lobster tail and beef wellington. We watched the dance show in the theater then went to the dance party with the balloon drop Midship.
Friday we did Zumba again in the back of the ship, but the ship was moving a lot! We went to see the "Liars club" but fell asleep through the show. Napped in our room again with room service lunch. Magic show in the theater then dinner (Tom turkey, new york steak). Before bed we listened to the Piano guy till 11 and had him play "part of your world" and recorded it for Jayli.
It was so so fun but we were so excited to see Jayli when we got back to Salt Lake. Becky and Leon brought her to the airport to pick us up and she was so excited to see us! She kept giggling and hugging us! I missed that little sweetheart like crazy. She had a great time with all the aunts, cousins and grandparents.

Tuesday Night Twister

Tuesday evenings are Jake and Jayli time. My current calling is in young womens. One Tuesday night at mutual I got this picture from Jake....

I was so impressed with her flexibility! She apparently caught right onto the game. She'd put her hands and feet on the right colors everytime. Jake is such a fun dad. He's so creative and playful. These two are always having fun together. Love my sweet little family.

Big girl bed

One night Jayli was exceptionally unhappy for bedtime. Jake read her a few books and then put her in her crib. She immediately stood up and started saying, "no wait, no wait!" He told her to lay down and go to sleep. He walked out of the room and she started throwing a huge tantrum. I came down the hall to see what the matter was. We were standing outside of her room trying to figure out what to do and all of a sudden she opens her door and runs out of her room and right between us. We look at each other like, "how the heck?" She ran into the front room and jumped on the couch and looked back at us down the hall. We just started laughing.
Apparently she figured out how to climb over the side of her crib and jump down onto the floor. We were hoping she was just so worked up that she had enough adrenaline to jump out. I held her in her room till she feel asleep then laid her down for the night. About an hour later, Jake and I were falling asleep in our room when I heard her cry. I quickly got out of bed to go into her room. Before I got to the hall she was running into my room! I was so shocked! I picked her up and she immediately laid her head down on my shoulder and fell back to sleep. If she remembers how to jump out of her crib half awake then, she's gonna do it again and possibly get hurt. I laid her back in her crib and hoped she wouldn't wake up again until morning. Luckily I got my wish. So first thing that next day Jake took the side rail off of her crib. One week later we had a toddler bed delivered to our door. Jayli was SO excited to help Jake put all the pieces together. She is so much like him! Loved all the tools and screws. She was elated! All in all she has been awesome about staying in her bed to go to sleep at night. But she loves to run into our room in the morning and jump in between us. Something I'm not so upset about. :)
