9 Months!

Jayli has officially been alive out of my tummy, longer than she was in my tummy! Jayli is so smiley, so playful, so ADORABLE! She makes the funniest faces and can make everyone laugh. Jayli is very smart. She not only stands without holding on but has started taking steps a couple weeks ago! Her record is 6 steps. She has even started to stand up without grabbing onto anything, just in the middle of the room. The other day when Jake got home from work, he knelt down in the doorway and she smiled and crawled over to him as fast as she could. Then just to impress at the last second, she stood herself up and took three big steps right into his arms!! We all cheered and laughed. She is so big and smart.
Other new things about ms. J. She dances, (she does this funny head sway thing) likes to clap, splash in the tub, open cupboards, got her two front teeth, feed herself, uses her sippy, loves being outside, still HATES getting her diaper changed. She has discovered meat tastes pretty good, chicken, turkey, ground beef. Loves raspberries and strawberries... too much of a good thing makes for messier diapers.

9 month stats:
Weighs 17 lbs 1 ounce (19%) burning all her baby fat :(
27 1/4" long (40%)
Sleeps from 8:45pm to 6:30am. Three naps during the day.
Pretty great at "self soothing" to sleep now.

Memorial Day

Traditionally, we drove up to my great grandparent's (Orvil Charlie and Edris Rae) graves on the hill at the albion cemetary. Such a beautiful wide, open space. They lived here most of their lives. Only a few of us made it up to the graves this year. Mimi, papa, mom, Jenna and her kids, me, Jayli and Kamryn.

Beautiful place to live

We live in the most beautiful area. East bench of cache valley. The other day it had just finished raining and I took Jayli and Nelli for a little stroll down the street. The Dier's wode weeds were in bright yellow blossoms. The sun was setting perfectly. Everything looked lush and bright. Perfect temperature. Only wish Jake had been home to share it with us. He works even after work most days. Such a sweet husband and father.

Mother's Day Weekend

I had a fabulous first Mother's Day! I got to spend the whole weekend with my 2 favorite people. Jake, Jayli and I ran in the Health Days 5K early Saturday morning. It was such a beautiful run up Smithfield canyon! Our time was 28.12. Jayli was cozy in her fleece jammies, bini and hoodie. She loved the recovery snacks after the race! We showered at home and got ready for the parade. We had a great time at the parade with our lunch and Jayli slept through the whole thing. Jake went fishing for a few hours that afternoon then we had a fun neighborhood BBQ Saturday night! We put Jayli to bed and watched the fireworks from our driveway. We've got the best spot to view the fireworks.

Jayli took a great nap on mother's day so I could nap too. Thank you sweetheart!
Mother's Day was wonderful. Jake kept Jayli so I could listen in Relief Society. I got a nap. Yummy grilled chicken for dinner. I got some petunias to plant in my flower beds and.... Jake took my rings to get cleaning and had them re-dipped in white gold. They look brand new! They just sparkle. Thank you honey!
