NFR

Way back in August, I got Jake tickets to the NFR. So we finally got to pack our bags and hit up Las Vegas. Unfortunately both girls were sick with the stomach flu. It was terrible. We seriously considered staying home. But Jake's family vowed to take care of them and help them feel better. So we got on the plane as scheduled. Our trip was only about 30 hours, so we went for it.
We left Monday morning and got to Vegas 45 min later. We shuttled to our hotel (Excaliber) We grabbed some lunch and checked into our room. Jake asked for an upgrade since we were celebrating his birthday and they did. When we got to our room we found a large gift basket with goodies. When we called the front desk they said that another guest was going to be in that room but canceled so we could enjoy the treats! We walked the strip for a couple hours and actually enjoyed Vegas. To me it's the worst place in the world. But during NFR week... it's a lot more country! Country music in all the casinos and cowboys everywhere. We rode the roller coaster at New York New York, which was super fun! We saw the fountains at the Bellagio. We could just be us.
We met up with Uncle Dick Brian (who I bought the tickets from) and caught a shuttle to the rodeo. He's a really nice guy. Reminded me a lot of Leon. We walked around outside the area for a while to see all the different vendors. Jake and I both shot a nerf gun to hit a ping pong ball off a bottle. We both hit one and each one a Wesson belt buckle. We came into the area right before the rodeo started. Our seats were right behind the bucking chutes! We couldn't believe how close we were sitting.  The lights were off and everyone was wearing flashing led lights. There was a cool laser show shining on the dirt from the jumbo tron and fireworks. The rodeo was really entertaining. They didn't waste time between events or between contestants. It was fast paced. Jake was in heaven the whole time. I loved it too. We went back to our hotel and slept so great. Uninterrupted sleep for an entire night.
The next morning we walked over to the cowboy Christmas expo and MGM. Not awesome, but it was fun to look around. Then we grabbed lunch at....hooters... before we left for our flight home.
When we got back to salt lake, Jake's parents met us at the airport with our car and the girls so we could just go straight home. Jayli was asleep but Kynli was happy to see us. She perked up and started eating and acting more like herself that night. After we got home I did end up taking Kynli to the Dr Wednesday because she was still puking. She acted happier in between but still vomiting. He told us it was just a virus and to wait a few more days. I did clear up and the girls are finally back to normal after a week of YUCK!
