Jayli and Jake have several things in common, but one in particular is that they just can't slow down! Busy busy always going. People tell us all the time how busy Jayli is, it's very obvious. She keeps me on my toes every day. She also learns things very quickly. As you can tell this last year, she has advanced faster than we can keep track. That was part of the reason I did a monthly update of her. So I could look back and see her grow. Lately Jayli has been expanding her vocabulary. She learns the signs we teach right away. But she says the word with the sign so she is communicating both ways.
Her words are:
Dada
Mama
Eat "eeee"
Please "pee"
Thank you "ta ooo"
Hi...(as she tilts her head to the side and smiles)
Bye "baaa"
NO
Don't
Baba
Passy
Kick
Go
Shoes
Sit down
uh oh
Two
poop "poe"
Nelli "ne eee"
Papa
Sissy
cheese "tees"
If we ask Jayli for something like her passy. She hesitates but will take it out of her mouth and put it in my hand. Then say "ta ooo" as she takes it back. She's such a show off. If someone comes over she will dance and spin and act all silly. She has this big fake laugh and throws her head back. J laughs for real when we pretend to hit our head on something, like the wall or her slide she thinks it's so funny.
At bed time she knows the routine. After we get her jammies on she'll stand in the kitchen till I heat up her milk and hand it to her. She get's her white blanket and passy and walks into our room by the bed. Jake or I will say the prayer and she'll kneel down by us. Then she walks straight to her room and waits for me to come in and sit in her rocker. I let her drink her milk then lay her down. She hands me her blanket and I spread it out over her. Doesn't make a peep just goes right to sleep.

Jayli has recently grown enough to crawl up the big steps in the basement that lead up to the slide. It takes quite a bit of effort but once she's too the top she laughs and waves. Then she turns around onto her belly and pushes off. She zooms down the slide so fast that she slides way out past the bottom across the carpet a foot or so! Then she jumps up and cheers. She gives us fives and says "Yaaaaa!"
Jayli puts her fingers in her mouth and tries to whistle. She pats her shin and calls for Nelli. Jayli loves to share hugs and kisses. She has to be right between us if Jake and I are snuggling or kissing. She loves to be outside. So she'll run to the mud room and get her shoes and coat. She plays fetch with Nelli. She crawls up the steps in the garage all bundled up tight in her winter clothing. Scoots the ball off the steps cause her hands are in her big gloves. Carries it over to the top of the drive way and lets it roll down and tells Nelli "GO!" Nelli will bring it back to the top of the steps and they just keep going! Ha they both have fun.
