Arizona

We decided to take the girls on a little getaway to enjoy some sunshine. Jake called his MTC mission companion Josh Skinner aka "skinny" and we planned a couple days to stay with him and his family in Queen Creek. They were such a fun family. They have 3 little girls and Jayli had so much fun! They played outside in their backyard on the slip n slide and trampoline and on bikes, and had a picnic and played soccer, and pretended to be mommys. :) Josh and Melissa were so sweet to us. They made us breakfast and an incredible rib dinner. We felt so welcome and... entertained. The 3rd night we stayed at the Arizona Grand Resort, the same place we stayed when we went to the Luke Bryan concert last October. Its so fun to go somewhere so warm in February because it's like flying into instant Summer! We wore shorts and flip flops and got to swim. We loved the water park! They had water slides and a lazy river and a wave pool. Kynli even liked floating with us in her pink floatie! One of Jayli's most favorite things we did was ride the "trolley." The resort would chauffeur us around in golf carts. We let Jayli call for a ride on the phone in our room and then we'd go down and wait for the "trolley!" It was like watching someone on a roller coaster. She had the biggest smile! We ate at this fun BBQ restaurant Sunday night. It had a big slide for the kids and a live band play country music. Our meal came on a big cookie sheet and cotton candy in a #10 storage can! Melissa and the girls came to swim with us Monday before we flew home. It wasn't as warm Monday but the girls still had fun. Jayli loved the airplane! Both times! She was so excited to ride the airplane and fly through the sky! She loved buckling her seat belt over and over and looking out the window. Kynli however did not like sitting still. She prefers to move around. We had such a fun time and enjoyed the Skinner family so much we might need to visit every winter!

Kynli 9 months

The 9 month mark is a big milestone. Kynli has now been out of my belly longer than she was in my belly! It's incredible how much a child can learn in 9 months! Kynli stands on her own! She has even taken a couple steps. She is so motivated to move and learn. She catches on fast, just like her big sis. Kynli could smile all day! It never gets old. I love LOVE her happy face. She can drink from a straw, and dance. She loves to bounce and shake when music is on. She loves being outside and going on walks. And she loves Nelli! Her K9 tooth on the left side is coming in. haha she's gonna look like a vampire. Kynli lights up our day. Her and Jayli love to play and giggle. I'm so lucky to have two sweet girls that love each other.

Kynli sleep about 10 hours at night
She takes 2, hour and half naps
She weighs about 18 pounds
She drink 5, 5 oz bottles a day

Valentines

love Love LOVE my valentines! We did so much to celebrate how much we all love each other this year. We made love notes and Jake brought us home each a white rose with our names on the stem. We made heart jigglers and a yummy dinner. We got each other gifts and went skiing on vday. Jayli also had a Valentine party at dance. She made valentines for her friends and wrote her name on each one... with some dotted line help. :)

How It's Made.... post office

For our February How It's Made tour we visited our local post office. The post master showed us how the mail is sorted and delivered. He showed the kids stamps and even where our slot was for our address! Jayli made a Valentine for the Durfees before we went and got to mail it when we were done.

Jazz Game and Highland Visit

Jake and I decided to give Jayli a little time alone with just mom and dad. She has to be patient a lot when we help Kynli and she's such a good girl about it. So we took her to the Jazz game! She loved cheering and dancing. She's such an enthusiastic kid! We even brought along a valentine for the Jazz bear, and she got to give it to him! She was kind of excited but also kind of nervous. :) We left early enough that day to visit in Highland before the game. The Armstrongs were at a tennis tournament in Park City but we got to see Kenadee and Andi. Mindy was also there visiting. She came back with us to SLC and watched Kynli while we took J to the game. The next morning, Jake took Mindy to the airport early but she missed her plane! So she joined us for breakfast before we drove home.

Ski Day

We took Jayli skiing again for the first time since she was 15 months! We bought Andi's old skiis and took her to the Magic Carpet at Beaver. We took turns walking behind her with the learning harness. She learned to turn each way and slow down. She really liked riding the "ride" the conveyor belt that you stand on to ride back up the hill. Kynli watched from the pack in her cute snow suit. It was actually a really warm and sunny day. Both girls fell asleep on the way home! Fun Saturday.
